I usually get elbow deep in grease and dust and put my camera away. I raced this bike in WERA in 1981 and 1982. |
Here I am in a grainy old picture in turn 3 at Blackhawk Farms. |

Two years ago I took the tank off, pounded out the dents. Filled in the imperfections with epoxy resin and flox. I cleaned and sealed the inside of the tank. Here it is outside of my shop. I started by hosing off the thickest of the grime. Raccoons had chewed up the seat. |

Forks leaking? |
My rearsets still intact. |

Most of the bigger parts are on the workbench. |
Still a ton of dirt. The engine was locked up. |

Pulled the jugs and found the left cylinder was corroded. The engine had been parked wth the left piston down exposing the cylinder and crank to the air. |

Not much wear on the clutch basket. I did most all of my shifting without the clutch. |
The clutch plates show almost no wear. Probably going to replace the fiber plates. |

I forgot that the chain broke and took out a chunk of the top case. I had the clutch cable safety wired into remaining spot. |
The crank didn't turn over even with the clutch out and the pistons out. The bearings were rather glued togeather. |

The transmission shows almost no wear. No pits on the teeth. No rounding of the dogs. The shifter fingers are straight and have no bends or bluing. |
Yep I know it is in rather sad condition. But I have owned the machine since 1975 and have some history on it. Probably won't look stock when I am finished. |
